Cannot delete print job

We have about 500-675 HP print queues on each 2000 print server with xp
clients. from time to time a print job will hang. When you delete the job
it says that it is deleting but this process seems to hang as well. If I
stop and start the print service I can clear the job but it also clears every
other print job. Is there any other way to delete these jobs or does anyone
known what can cause these issues?
