Cannot delete or move files in XP

I have a canon camera that has loaded an image browser
under Program Files. Once I add a picture in this
directory I cannot delete it. I have 200 images and when
I try to delete them i get an error message saying that
access is denied, check to see if your disk is write
protected. It is my C drive and they have normal .jpg
extensions. I checked to see if "program files" is
protecting the deletion and it says it cannot be accessed
since it is being used by the operating system. What's
up??????
