XP Friends - I am a photographer, and process most of my work in a project
folder on the desktop. When I'm done, I 'archive' (copy) by drag and drop
the project folder to a DVD, then 'move' the folder to my storage USB drive.
XP can't move the folder (now empty) and I frequently get the message (or
similar) " Cannot delete XYZ: It is being used by another person or program.
Close any programs that might be using the file and try again". I
irritatedly close all open programs and try to delete the folder, same
message. I have to reboot to be able to delete the folder. I use mainly use
PhotoShop CS2 with BridgeHelp appreciated! - Bob

Since you Drag it to the DVD to burn - I would guess windows has it
sill "waiting to burn" status. If you open windows explorer and view
your DVD drive, see if that folder is listed there.

Jon - Great idea, Thanks. I never thought of that, but I use Roxio drag &
drop, so nothing is staged to burn . . my guess is that it's Photoshop or
Bridge, but? - Bob

I have had the same problem when sorting and archiving my photos. when they
are sorted I try to delete the folder they came from, but i sometimes get
the same message.
As I do this manually, I always check the properties of the folders before I
delete the photos in the old folder to check they are copied, and sometimes
discover 1 more file in the folder to delete, even though it doesn't show up
in explorer (and yes it is set to show hidden and system files and folders
etc).
Perhaps this info might help someone to diagnose the prob.

Regards
Mick
