Receive a "this folder is full" error message. The folder is empty. Anyone
have any suggestions? Thanks.

There are several mail folders I just created and want to delete. I click on
the empty folder right click and highlight delete. An error message comes up
saying "Cannot delte this folder. Right-click the folder, and then click
properties to check your permissions for the folder" When I do that the
permissions section is blocked.

Ok, but where did you create these folders? In a Public Folder?
Contact the owner of the Public Folder to delete it. You can have the
permission to create sub folders but not delete them.

I created it in the mail section of outlook. It is a one user machine and I
am the administrator.

Outlook 2007 on Vista Home Edition Premium

I also have just started having this problem. For months I've been using an access database that has VB code that
1) Creates a folder, FOO
2) Copies emails to the folder
3) Deletes the folder.

About two days ago I started getting the same error message.

I suspect that there was an office update that is causing the problem.

To delete the folder using the UI I need to
1) Close Outlook
2) Start Outlook in "Safe mode" by holding down the CRTL key when clicking the Outlook icon.
3) Delete the folder in safe mode.
4) Quit Outlook
5) Restart Outlook in normal mode.

Further Info: single user on laptop. No sync with other mail servers. PST file.

Using just the UI
1) Create a folder FOO in Personal Folders.
2) Try to delete the folder

Error: "Cannot delete this folder. Right-click the folder, and tehn click
Properties to check your permissions for the folder. Seethe folder owner or
your administrator to change your permsissions. The folder is full".

But folder is empty. There are no permissions to change.

Close Outlook, start in safe mode, then I can delete folder.

I guess VISTA SP has YET ANOTHER BUG -
After starting Outlook in safe mode SHIFT CTRL OUTLOOK you can delete it in
safe mode.

Well what can you expect from a 30 year old product with only 10,000
engineers working in it.

Of course, this just lets us delete the folders. Nothing here so far has
answered WHY this happens or how to actually FIX it so we don't have to do
this workaround.

Any ideas on actually FIXING this problem?

Had the same problem with 2010 Beta and this solution worked. Never had the
problem in any version.
