Hi:
I have a "brainteaser" that maybe somebody somewhere might know the answer. I just reformatted a Toshiba laptop that had AOL 8.0 in the initial installation programs. However, when I went to uninstall it with Add/Remove it said that it could not find the AOL program, even though it was definitely installed.
Therefore I had to manually uninstall AOL, including deleting all the Registry entries etc with regedit. I had noticed that the AOL program icon was listed in the My Computer screen at the bottom under Other. Just this one icon was there.
When I manually deleted AOL, as described above, it apparently deleted everything within this AOL folder in the My Computer screen; however, now I am left with just a blank folder icon there with no name. There is no apparent way that I can delete this blank folder from the My Computer screen without going back into the Registry to do so, but I don't have a clue how you would ever find this blank folder with no name in the Registry to delete it.
If anyone has any idea as to how this blank folder can be deleted I would be most appreciative. It's no big deal, but I know that someone has the skills to accomplish this task. It's way above my limited knowledge.
Thanks
