Cannot delete folder or its contents

I am running WinXP SP2 and the Permissions on a folder have changed so that
only the System can exercise "Full Control". The owner or Administrator can
only "read" & "write". How do I get delete this folder and its contents?

You should be able to delete it in Safe Mode. If not, you can also navigate to
the file using the Command Prompt, and type del xxx.xxx (file name)>Enter.

This morning I moved the folder to the "My Documents" folder. I then checked
the security tab and the box for "full control" was now available to
Administrator and to Owner. I checked it and was able to delete the folder.
When I posted the question, the "full control" box was greyed out and
couldn't be changed. Thanks much.
