Hello,

I'm using a Windows 2000 Adv Srvr SP4 box and having trouble deleting a
folder which contains sub folders and data files. The folder used to be on a
share but has since been moved off a share. I keep getting the following
error when trying to delete the folder and all it's contents even when I try
from safe mode.

CANNOT DELETE FILENAME.
ACCESS IS DENIED.
THE SOURCE FILE MAY BE IN USE.

You could boot the server into Recovery Console mode, then
delete the files from there. Make sure to set your domain and
local policy so that access to all drives and folders is enabled.

Could you please tell me where I need to go to confirm access to the drives
and folders for domain and local policy?

Thank you.

After a fair bit of searching I found it here:

- Run gpedit.msc
- Local Computer Policy / Computer Configuration / Windows Settings /
Security Settings /
Security Options / Recovery Console: Allow floppy disk access etc.

A similar path would apply in a domain environment.
