Cannot delete files restored with Vista Backup

I had to switch computers the other day and used the Vista Backup (Backup
Status and Configuration) to backup files before switching computers. After
moving to the new computer, I used the Vista restore function to restore all
of the files within their subdirectories on a different location on the new
hard drive so I could just go back and pick and choose what items I wanted
to copy back into certain locations. Some of the files that the Vista Backup
performed were of the Program Files Folder. Now that it restored the
"Program Files" folder into this new location, I cannot delete it. It gives
me a message that "This Folder is shared with other people" and that it will
no longer be shared. Vista makes me continually click "Continue" to delete
each file or folder and then gets to the point where it cannot delete
anything. Even the items that I have clicked continue on are not really
deleted. I have tried taking ownership of this folder and adding permissions
to my already admin account but it does not make any difference. If I look
at the sharing tab, it says that it is Program Files and Not shared.

What do I need to do to delete this folder?

Thanks,

Rod Miller

be sure you are logged in as admin.
select the folder. right click-properties - security tab

advanced - owner tab - edit - select owner - replace owner on subcontainers & objects.

don't have yourself as an option

from security tab - advanced - permissions - creator/owner or users - edit - reselect same on this page - toggle [include inheritable permissions] - [replace all]. You can also add yourself here as owner or use a group. User should be more than enough for what you want.

Thanks. I had tried the first option before and tried it again and it did
not work. Then I tried the second option and that took care of it.
