Hi,

I edited an image in Photoshop and placed it on the
desktop before I mailed it as an attachment. Now I cannot
delete the file.

When I try I get the error message: "Cannot delete Iris
(fielname): There has been a sharing violation. The source
or destination file may be in use".

If I try to change the image in Photoshop I get the error
message: "Could not save "C:\...\Iris.psd" because the
file is already in use or was left open".

This also happens after rebooting the computer. I would
try to delete the file with the DOS-prompt but I cannot
find the desktop with the DOS-prompt.
Could somebody help?

Martin

Press F8 during boot, then select Safe Mode. This will
probably let you delete the file.

If this does not work, boot your machine with your Win2000 CD.
Select "Repair" when prompted, then select "Command Console".
After you have entered the admin password, navigate to
c:\documents and settings\YourAccountName\desktop and
delete the file.
