I hope I am posting in the right section here, as this is all new to me. I have a Dell Dimension E520 with Windows XP. I saved three emails to my desktop, from a relative, tried to open them in every program I could think of, and they will not open. I also tried to delete them, but to no avail. Every time I try to move, delete or open them, I get a message: cannot (move, delete)file: cannot read from source file or disk. I have scanned them with AVg Free, and they don't contain a virus, and have had no other issues with my PC, but these three worthless files on my desktop are driving me crazy. I even deleted them from my inbox, tried to delete them in safe mode, also tried "moveonboot," but they won't budge. Can anyone give me some suggestions?
