Hello all,
I've gotten good advice here before, hopefully someone
can help me again... I attempted this morning to burn a
data CD with my CD-RW through Windows Explorer (I'm on XP
Home). It burned the first four files, but the rest
wouldn't progress past temporary, they'd just sit there
with greyed out icons, and I'd keep getting an error
message. (When I looked at the contents of the D: drive
in DOS, though, it showed all ten files.)
I eventually gave up and used DeepBurner (great app) to
accomplish the job. However, now, XP still thinks there
are six files to be burned to the D: drive. I get an
alert that they're waiting to be burned during startup.
What's more, when I navigate to the D: drive in Windows
Explorer, I see the temporary files and try to delete
them (using both the menu option on the far left, "Delete
Temporary Files," and by highlighting and hitting the
delete key) but get the following message every time:
Cannot delete CD label: it is being used by another
person or program.
Close any programs that might be using the file and try
again.
Of course, there are no other programs running -- unless
there's something in the background I'm not aware of.
It's REALLY annoying to have to confront these temporary
files every time I turn on my comp -- how can I get rid
of them?
