Cannot delete blocked senders list

Some of my friends' emails go directly to my delete folder. I noticed that
they are automatically added to my Blocked Senders list. Every time I remove
them from the list, they reappear when they send me another message.

I have tried to delete the whole list and Rules, but they all reappear when
I reboot.

A friend told me that I had to edit the Registry, but since everyone warns
about changing the Registry unless I know what I am doing, I am afraid to do
it. Can anyone help?

Thanks

Zelfan

The Blocked Senders registry key is damaged.

1.. In Regedit, navigate to this key:

|--HKEY_CURRENT_USER
|-----Identities
|--------{GUID}
|-----------Software
|--------------Microsoft
|-----------------Outlook Express
|--------------------5.0

where GUID is the Global Unique IDentifier for your Identity.

2.. Under that key, you will find the following sub-keys, among
others:

|-----------------------Block Senders
|-----------------------Rules
|-----------------------Signatures

Select the Block Senders Key and delete it. Blocked Senders will be empty,
but you can rebuild it now.

Thanks. I will try your advice and let you know the results. I hope I do not
crash the computer!

Thanks for your suggestion, but I do not have any "anti-spam" utility
installed in my computer. In addition to some messages going directly to the
Blocked Senders List, the problem that most bothers me is that I cannot
remove any of the addresses in the list nor the whole list and Message Rules.

Bruce's suggestion notwithstanding:

Your current Identity may be damaged, especially if its the default Main
Identity. Try one or more of your accounts in a new Named Identity
(File>Identities>Add new identity). Assuming all is well, import messages
from the old Identity before deleting it (File>Identities>Manage
Identities).

To avoid such corruption in future:

Don't use Inbox or Sent Items to archive messages. Move them to local
folders created for this purpose.

Empty Deleted Items folder daily.

Disable Background Compacting [N/A in SP2] and frequently perform a manual
compact of all OE folders while "working offline". More at
http://insideoe.tomsterdam.com/files/maintain.htm.

Your anti-virus application's email scanning feature can also cause such
corruption. Disable it. It provides no additional protection.

On a somewhat relatd topic. How can I quickly search the "Blocked List" for
say a specific email address that was erroneously "blocked" without having to
scroll through the entire list?

Tks a lot.

I noticed that
they are automatically added to my Blocked Senders list.

Disable or uninstall any 'anti-spam' utility you're using (e.g.,
NAV).

Type it in as a new address. You will get a box saying it already exists,
do you want to replace? Answer Yes and it will take you to the name.

Guess the "ENTER" key was depressed too quickly; your reply was ... empty.

No it wasn't. This was at the bottom:
