At some point a corrupt data folder has appeared on
our folder list. When we select the item
titled "Personal Folders" it has no content except for
the error message:
"Unable to display the folder. Microsoft Outlook could
not access the specified folder location. The .DLL file
for the information service could not be found. MAPI was
unable to load the information service pstprx.dll. Be
sure the service is correctly installed and configured."
We cannot delete this entry from the folder list.
The file menu option to "Close All Items" will not remove
it. Furthermore, under the menu FILE/DATA FILE
MANAGEMENT there are two "Personal Folders" entries, but
they both show a path to the same data file.
When we try to move one it prevents the removal
indicating that the user cannot remove the default data
file. When trying to remove the other it indicates that
it is linked to a mail account and can only be removed
from the "TOOLS/E-MAIL ACCOUNTS" dialog. But removing
any or all the e-mail accounts still leaves the
corrupt 'Personal Folders' entry in the folder list.
Does anyone know how we can delete the invalid entry for
a data file on the folder list?
Thank You,
Richard Wilkinson
