cannot cut and paste from internet site using vista

I have vista office and when I am on the browser and want to copy a
line that is on the web site I am at to paste in a word document or on
a new web page to do a search - it won copy so I can paste. I have
never had a problem with this till going to Vista - is there a fix for
this?

Are you sure it's text and not an image? Vista's copy/paste function works
fine.

Sometimes the traditional copy/cut/paste doesn't work if you mean you
click on some copy or paste button and nothing happens. You can always
try the keyboard alternatives:

copy Ctrl +C
cut Ctrl +X
paste Ctrl +V
 
Thank you Adam. I never mastered the short cut commands but those worked
where my traditional highlighting and right clicking the mouse to copy or
paste just doesn't work. It does on my other PC which still has xp and the
same version of windows explorer - so assuming it is quirk in the vista?
Regardless your suggestion works and that's what counts. Appreciate your
response.

You're welcome. I never figued out why when you press either the copy
or paste button in some applications it doesn't always work, and my
experinece is for both XP and Vista. You would think both the keyboard
shortcuts and the buttons would be mapped to the same routine, guess
not. Maybe somebody else knows why the keyboard shortcuts almost
always work and why buttons don't sometimes.

I've never had any problems copying and pasting from the web.
 
Can you disclose the url? There are some web sites that make it difficult to
copy text from their web pages because of copy protection - eg.
BusinessWeek.

Which web browser are you using Firefox or Internet Explorer? Have you tried
attempting the copy and paste in another account? If so, what is the result?
You could also try resetting Internet Explorers settings and see if it fixes
the problem. Click start > type 'Internet Options' hit enter > go to the
'Advanced' tab > under the 'Reset Internet Explorer settings' click 'Reset'
click OK.
