Cannot create rule - check folder permissions

This has only just happened. I have changed nothing. I have not done an
update. It was working yesterday.

I am using XP Home and Outlook 2002 SP2. I am not on a network just a single
PC on a dial-up connection. I am not logged on as an administrator. I have
Norton virus checking software and it is up to date. I have the XP firewall
turned on.

Yesterday I created a rule to block some spam and it worked fine. Today I
tried to create another rule for the same reason but got a message "Cannot
create rule. Check folder permissions." As I said I have not changed or
touched anything. I have googled and searched the MS knowledgebase but
everything seems to apply to XP Pro or network users. I have looked at my
folder permissions and they say "Normal" .. this is XP Home not Pro. The
funny thing is my existing rules are working OK ( I saw two messages added
to my junk email today) and I can move messages via the rules wizard or
drag-and-drop from my inbox into my junk email folder. If there was a
folder permissions problem somewhere you'd think there would be a problem
with these actions but there isn't. It happens only when I try to create a
new rule. And I don't have heaps of rules only eight. Anyone got any ideas
why this should just start happening?

Please reply to newsgroup.

Stop worrying, I found it myself. Must have been working offline with
Outlook some time and connected to 'net through IE and then went to Outlook
to check mail and news and because everything seemed to work OK I didn't
notice "work offline" was checked.

Apparently if you have checked "work offline" even though you are connected
to the 'net and everything else in Outlook works like send/receive and all
the other functions, the only thing you can't do is create a new rule.
Aaaaarrrgghhh!! Good one Bill!
