Why can't I create a "new user"? A recent Microsoft newsletter suggested
users should make a limited account to browse the Web, so viruses cannot
directly access the "administrator" account. I run Windows XP, SP 2 on my
home computer. I have checked "Control Panel/System/Advanced/User
Profiles/Settings" and find that I do have a profile for myself on the
computer. However, the "Delete" and "Copy To" options are "grayed out". I
have also checked Control Panel/User Accounts". I get the screen to create a
new account, I have created an account (trying both "admin." and "limited")
and everything appears to be all right. But when I click to access the
account, I get an error message saying something to the effect that Windows
cannot load the user profile, to check if I am on the Network, and if the
Network is functioning properly. I am not on a Network, just my own
computer. Can someone help? Thank you!
