I'm just trying to connect a laptop running WIN2K to a
Desktop running WINXP. I figured a direct cable
connection would be the easiest way. I guess not.
On the WIN2K machine every time I use the Network
Connection Wizard to connect the two computers and I
choose the role of Host I get an error saying the Routing
and Remote Access service was unable to start.
When I dig deeper into the Event Log I have two Errors
the Source for one being RemoteAccess the other being
Service Control Manager.
The RemoteAccess Error has an Event ID: 20103 with the
Description: Unable to load C:\WINNT\System32
\iptrmgr.dll.
The Service Control Manager Error has an Event ID: 7024
with the Description: The Routing and Remote Access
service terminated with service-specific error 2.
Any help would be appreciated.
