Daniel

I have three systems running on a TCP/IP network that are
running Win2000 and one system that is running WinXP. Two
of the Win2000 systems are at SP4.

I cannot connect to any shared resources on the XP system
even though connectivity is fine between the Win2000
systems and I CAN connect from the XP system to any
Win2000 system.

The XP system, when accessed, will ask for a user name and
password even though the proper account is setup locally
on the XP. ReEntering a valid username/password does not
allow access.

What's up?

Thanks!!!
Daniel

Have you disabled XP's internet connection firewall?

Net Logon was not running & was set to manual.

Go to Setting>Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services
and disable Net Logon.

.

Additional Info...

I can ping all systems in either direction.
(from Win2000>WinXP or WinXP>Win2000)

The XP Event log reports the login attempt as it would
when the user password or name is incorrect. In the event
log it states the correct system name. Both user name and
password are indeed correct, however, and I have reset the
password on a number of different ocassions - still with
no success.
