I have a Lenovo notebook computer in an Active Directory domain to which I
cannot connect to administrative shares. I can ping by name and by IP
address. I can initiate a Remote Desktop Connection into it. I can also use
SMS 2003 Remote Tools to connect to it's desktop. However, I cannot use "net
view \\<machine name>", nor "net view \\<its IP address>". Both return
"System error 53 has occurred. The network path was not found". The system
shows all the proper shares: IPC$, C$, Admin$. It can connect outbound to
network shares, Internet access is working, etc. The only issue seems to be
connecting inbound to its shares. The Windows firewall is off, the Symantec
Firewall has appropriate exclusions for our subnets. The "Server" and "File
and Print Sharing" services are running. A system rebuild would probably
resolve the issue, but any other ideas?
