cannot connect to server

Some programs will update but some "cannot connect to server"
Anyone know what the problem might be ? Thanks

Not without knowing the names of the programs and how you connect to the
Internet. Also, if these programs used to connect with no problem, what
changed between that time and the time they no longer could connect? It
would also be helpful to know what Service Pack level your XP is at.
