Buddy

Does anyone know why I get the following message when
trying to map a drive on another machine on my network.

\\myPC\C is not accesible. You might not have permission
to use this network resource. Contact the administrator
of this server to find out if you have access permissions.

Not enough server storage is available to process this
command.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL MY PCS HAVE WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL
SP1 INSTALLED and use windows workgroups and they have
the share setup will full access and I'm using an
administrator account.

Please help.

Thanks

I've found the solution myself, here it is for those who
might have the same problem.

"Not enough server storage is available to process this
command"

This seems to indicate a problem with a parameter called
"irpstacksize" on the XP machine.
Check the event viewer on the XP desktop for an event ID
2011.

If so then do the following,

To set the IRPStackSize back to the default (15 for XP,
11 for NT), perform
the following steps:

1. Start the registry editor (e.g., regedit.exe).
2. Navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\
Services\lanmanserver\parameters.
3. Double-click IRPStackSize (or if this registry
setting doesn't exist,
create it of type DWORD and ensure the case is correct).
4. Change the base to decimal, set the value to 11 for
Win2K or NT or 15
for XP, and click OK.
5. Reboot the computer."

Greetings Buddy,

I'm experiencing exactly the same problem you are...

Found the area you mentioned on the registry and I don't
have the entry you stated. Can you please send the exact
line and how it should look - thanks!

I get a similar message but mine reads as follows:

Mshome is not accesible. You might not have permission
to use this network resource. Contact the administrator
of this server to find out if you have access permissions.

Mshome is the name of my home network.

Any ideas?

Hello,

If you cannot find the line then you will need to add it.
Please note that I had the problem on Windows XP Pro.

Thanks,
