I can't connect to my desktop computer from my laptop, everytime i try it
says "This computer can't connect to the remote computer. Try connecting
again. If the problem continues, contact the owner of the remote computer or
your network administrator." I'm using wireless internet (d-link wireless
router) to connect my laptop to the internet. If someone could please help me
fix this problem it will be greatly appreciated. Please explain it in simply
words, i'm not great at using computers, thanks in advance!

With Remote Desktop?

If so is the desktop running XP Pro/MCE or Vista Ultimate/Business? If so
have you enabled Remote Desktop and opened TCP Port 3389 on any software
firewall running on the desktop?

If the desktop is running XP Home or Vista Home Premium/Basic then you need
to use an alternative like UltraVNC.
