Hi !

I'm trying to create my first personnal internet website hosting and i've
followed a lot of posts in this newsgroup to help me...
but i don't succeed making it available to internet...

I've created an AD on my server
my domain is polykrom.com on advs4030 server

I've made a forward Lookup Zones integrated to AD named polykrom.com, this
one have the name server i've registrated to my ISP (ns1.polykrom.com) and
point correctly to my static IP (213.181.33.190) ...

Everythings works fine in local .. i can nslookup everything and browse my
site without problems.. but when i can't connect to it by internet ... ("the
page cannot be displayed") ..

When i trace the ipconfig /all i have the following entries :

Windows 2000 IP Configuration

You seem to have listed your ISP's DNS servers (the 195.13 addresses) in the
IP properties of your DNS server. You should change this so that your
internal servers only use your internal DNS server for DNS resolution. You
can then put the ISP DBS addresses in the forwarders tab of DNS for external
name resolution.

If I understand your ipconfig output correctly, your ISP DNS servers seem to
be 195.13.2.56 and 195.13.2.56. I tried a www.dnsreport.com on gandi.net but
it didn't exist.

Yes :) thx

the main problem is that my server is on a intranet .. and i have only
access to my server wich have its own IP ...
So, i've registrated the NS to Gandi (same like NetSol or other) and point
it to my IP

Do that mean that i need the IP adresse of Gandi ?? i'dont understand ..
On my DNS i've checked the "Enable forwarders" but i don't know what is the
ip i have to add...

Do i need to add reverse lookup zones ? and what is the "root hints" ?

I've followed the instructions on that post :

http://groups.google.fr/[email protected]&rnum=8

and it seems everything works well in local, so i assume i've forgot
something to make it available to internet .. but what ?
I've modified my TCP config to point the DNS to itself as Simon Geary tell
me .. but nothing change..

SO ?

thanks a lot !!

the 195.13.2.56 and 195.13.2.57 is the intranet server DNS IP ..
Gandi is not my ISP , but my host register , like NetWorkSolutions..
So i 've internet acces through the intranet .. but i don't have access to
the main server ..

it's a little confuse.. sorry.. but my english doesn't help me .. :)

OK, so you do have access to the public Internet but you don't have access
to your internal web site you made yourself, is that correct?

What URL are you using to access the internal site?

Well,

I've access to my site in internal .. but not in external ..
So, when i browse to http://www.polykrom.com on my server.. everything works
fine .. but when i want to browse to it from external :

Well,

My server IP is 213.181.33.190... not 195.13.2.56
I don't know .. i don't have access to the firewall .. i'm on an intranet
that i don't administrate..

so i have to contact the administrator..

thanks a lot ..

Do you have firewalls between your dns server an internet?
Because when i try to use your DNS servers i get no reply.

So even they are registered for your domian, pipl wont be
able to resolve your website. You should open port 53 on
UDP and TCP to your DNS servers
