CANNOT COLLECT WMI

L

Leavenworth

Everytime I attempt to check my system information, I cannot access any
information about my computer. Instead, I receive a message that says
"CANNOT COLLECT INFORMATION". It further states "cannot access the Windows
Management Instrumentation software - Windows Management Software may be
moved or missing".

I didn't knowingly move any software. Does anyone know what simple step I
can take to be able to correct the problem and access information about my
system? I prefer not to have to completely reload Windows. (For whatever
it is worth, I'm running XP-Pro on a computer with plenty of ram and disk
space).

Your suggestions will be appreciated.
