cannot close some browser windows

while i'm browsing online, why will some windows refuse to close? I can minimize or maximize them but not close them
once in a while it 'll work if i click the stop button in that window(assumming that it might not be closing 'cause it's still communicating), but this rarely works! so by the time i'm through browsing i have all these pages stuck open and clogging up my taskbar, and the only way i've found to get rid of them is to log off and then run a "window washing" software program. this is all very much a pain in the rea! Can any one help?!
 
Most likely caused by spyware or adware. I'd
suggest 'AdAware' and 'SpyBot' - both free.

tab,highlight the oneyou want to end,and click end
task.But it sounds like you have spyware running on your
computer...go to www.download.com search for
ad aware download it for FREE check for updates and
run it remove all the spyware and try your browser
again.You can go to the same site,and get the Avant
browser for FREE too,try that browser out,it's like IE6
with smaller buttons,even comes with a pop-up blocker.If
your using AOL or dial-up then the problem is that it's
not responding,and you should try another ISP.

2) if you have a firewall, copy the url of that window in your firewall so you block this address
