Hi,
I have in one slides several frames containing text as well as a frame
containing a table.
I wan to reduce the size of tha table and its frame but pp won't let me do
that; a but as if the formatting was protected or "locked".
Any ideas on how to fix it?
Tx,
S

By frame, do you mean objects? Are the objects grouped? What version of
PowerPoint are you using? Are you sure that the table really is a table, or
is it a group of objects?

I am using pp 2002, WIN XP.
The table I inserted using the command: "Insert Table" and I chose the
number of rows and columns, etc.
Ii cd be a group of objects, I am not sure.
how do I check?

Sonia,
I think by "frames" they meant placeholders. I have had several newbies to
PPT who are (somewhat) web wise call them that, thinking that they worked
like the frames on a web page.

Tables can sometimes seem a bit tricky.

If there is text in the table, the table won't size any smaller than what is
required to contain the text. Could this be the issue? Maybe you can tell
us more about the contents. Spaces, and carriage returns do count as
characters, so they could also be restricting the re-sizing.

By the way, we use the term "newbie" here with great fondness and respect.
It really doesn't matter how new a person is. Anyone who finds their way to
one of these newsgroups is very smart and resourceful, in our book. But, we
do have a lot of users who use non-English versions of PowerPoint, so I
wasn't sure what you meant by a frame and thought that frame might be the
translation of "object", in another language. Kathy was just trying to
point out to me that the other possibility was that maybe I wasn't
considering the fact that even in English people use different terms for
different things. Heavens! You should have been here a few years ago when
I referred to everything as a "thingie". In any language, that one is a bit
hard to translate. LOL!!

Sonia,
I appreciate your comments.
I was just putting in my 2 cents; u know how it is....
Anyhow, I was playing around with the pres and somehow by going into some
formatting--I remember: selecting the whole table and going into edit mode
for the "borders" of the cells, and using that to fix it.
But it is strange as I was able to simply edit it another time using another
method.
And u r right about the font size which was another aspect of the problem.
The problem is fixed.
Tx very much for your replies to my posts.

Good goin'. We welcome your comments and certainly recognize your
frustration as our own. Keep hangin' around here. It's a great place to

that you'll be able to offer some real help!
