Cannot change font size in tables,cells,links

I cannot reduce font sizes to 8 or 10 in tables, hyperlinks.and cells. No
matter what I set font size to in normal view, the preview and published page
always defaults to size 12. I have tried to use the Format>Font command in
table properties and cell properties but that did not work. I tried to change
the size using the font drop down menus in the toolbar and that did not work.
I went into Styles and tried to set the fonts with user defined html tags for
hyperlinks and for tables and that did not work. I don't know what else to
do. Any help is greatly appreciated.

If you can't do it with the Format>Font, then something is definitely
overriding it. Does your web use a theme? If so, look in
Format>Theme>Modify>Text and see what's in there. Does it use an external
style sheet? If so, check out the properties of that. And finally, does it
have any styles pre-defined on the page itself? Either in the header section
of the code or perhaps carried forward from copying from another place (such
as a Word doc???).
