Recent upgrade to XP from ME. Would like to make old My Documents private;
but it shows up under drive C:/ as well as in my new, top level "Steve's
Documents" folder. There are now two My Documents showing. One under drive
C:/ and the other in my private Documents. I don't dare erase C:/My
Documents as I'm sure that there is only one copy of the files on the
machine. i.e. I can write a test file in my Private documents and it appears
in C:/My Documents and Guest can see it
All attempts to follow Help instructions about Sharing fail as the Check Box
is always shaded grey and unavailible. Guest Account can read and write
files everywhere in Excel and Notepad. For some reason Word works as
expected and refuses to allow Guest access to Word files.
Reading earlier posts in microsoft.public.windowsxp.xxxxx I saw one mention
of there being a problem with with FAT32 and that one has to use NTFS to get
Sharing to work.
Thanks,
Steve
