I really need help. I downloaded a background from hubblesite.org and used
it for a while but it never worked well. I am trying to change background
now and can't. When I try to move the list or click change nothing happens.
It is like that part if frozen. Everything else on my display properties
works fine. Can you help me. I tried some of the suggestions on other posts
but they did not work.

I had already done most of what you suggested and tried the managing add-ons.
It still won't let me change the background on the desktop. Just doesn't do
anything at all.

The download from hubblesite.org was just a background picture, I can't
locate it in the computer files so can't delete it. It is there whether or
not I am hooked to internet or not so is not streaming. It seems to be too
big for the desktop so shows up now when I turn the computer on and when I
shut down. The background is black the rest of the time. I can change the
theme to XP and the background will change to blue but the picture from
hubble is still there (on/off) and I can't change to any background except
"none" in different colors so stick with black. Very disappointing. Did
everything nass said and I lost other programs in my computer (java, real
player, etc) but did not lose the Sombrero Galaxy pic from Hubble. Talk
about your glitches, hubble seem to be pros at it. :)

Well, I finally found the hubble picture (it was of the sombrero galaxy) and
deleted it so that is no longer a problem. I still can't change my desktop
background except to a solid color. It is totally ignoring me when I try to
go to the left side of the boxes and try to click on any other
picture/background. There just is no response at all. If you figure it out
let me know. If I do I will let you know. Thanks.

I did all you suggested however,
and
[-]HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\ActiveDesktop =
delete all the values you see in the right pane ( leave the default).

On this one there was no ActiveDesktop file.

I did get rid of the hubble background so that is no longer a problem but I
still can't get the background on my desktop to change except to change solid
colors. The other side just doens't work. I can't even click on another
background pic at all. Can you think of anything else?

Thanks for helping by the way.

I had already done most of what you suggested and tried the managing add-ons.
It still won't let me change the background on the desktop. Just doesn't do
anything at all.
