I have tried lots of applications to burn CD's. I have used Windows Media
Player, iTunes, Sonic, etc. and I keep getting the message CD is dirty. I
have tried other brands of CDs and still receive the same message. Any
suggestions

Your CD recorder/player has two heads - Read and Write. To burn CDs
you use the Write head, yours may be dirty. Does it otherwise play music?
Try a long Q-tip with denatured alcohol to clean the write head or you can
purchase a CD cleaning kit at Best Buy or Circuit City. If still nothing, you
may have a "burned out burner".

:

i have a demensions 3000 system with windows xp professional service pack 2.
in this system, i have a sony cd-rw crx217e, which according to what i have
read, should be the unit to do all of my burning weather audio and/or video.
i purchased my computer back in october of 2005, and started to try to burn
cd's 3 months ago. and like the person that wrote here before, i used the
same products that help allow the burning of cds, with the same results. but
i feel that a cleaning is not the solution to my problem...i think i need
updates for real player, windows media play, sonic, sharaza dell jukebox by
misicmatch and cdburner xp pro3 to be compatible with my sony cd-rw. please
can someone help.
