I just recieved the beta copy in the mail from Microsoft.

I played the DVD in the machine and configured my bios to boot from CD.

Well...it doesnt boot it just hangs.

So... I installed it on my drive the way the DVD instructions say to do
it... and quess what. It reads the dvd fine and I run it.

Goes through and installs then says it is going to reboot. Ok....

Once it did that it hung....no windows no nothing. no error either.

What is going on?

As a new beta tester you may have just found your first bug! Use the
Feedback link on your Vista desktop to tell MS.

Go back to XP, and download some sort of RAM test. It is likely in this case
that you have hardware issues, RAM being the most obvious one in this case

I have one gig of ram.

I did the intial diagnostic and nothing came up except that the drivers for
my xd-flash drive wont work and video card wont support the advance graphics.

I have a fijitus lifebook n6100.

I did just see a comment by an MS Expert in a CompletePC Backup chat (part
of this weeks' feature focus) a comment that MS is aware that some dvd
drives are incompatible with Vista. They are working with the manufacturers
to fix all of these before release. I sure hope yours is not one, but a
check with the manufacturer might be informative.
