cannot add/remove windows components

I just had a windows 2000 server crash and now am not able
to add/remove windows components. I receive the error
message"setup cannot load master information file." I
receive the same message when I use the windows cd and
when I try in safe mode. Any suggestions would be welcome.
 
Hello,

According my research, this behavior will occur if you have installed APC
Back-Ups on your comptuer. If this is the case, please temporarily uninstall
it to test the
issue.

You may have to boot into the recovery console to disable any service or
driver for the APC Back-Ups Program. Here is an article that will walk you

REGSVR32 APPWIZ.CPL
