"Cannot add outlook-specific information to the store"

I export my Outlook 2002 calendar information from my
notebook and Email it so I can import the calendar on my
desktop. It previously worked fine; now I get the error
message,
Cannot add outlook-specific information to the store".
Any help?
 
Could be email in Top Level of Personal Folders

I had the same problem. It was caused by emails that had accidentally been dragged and dropped into my Personal Folders folder (rather than a subdirectory below this). Outlook will store email there, even though it isn't really appropriate, but it won't display them. You have to search for them using an advanced search and you may find some that are in the "Top Level". Move these to the appropriate folder and then maybe you will be able to export it again.

I personally like this method of maintaining a backup folder because I can have it skip duplicate items so I don't need to export or copy the whole Gig .pst every time.
