Recently, our computer began crashing when we attempted to print. I tried
opening the Printers and Faxes screen, and the computer also crashes when
this is done. When I hooked the printer up to another computer, I found that
it was completely dead, so I suspect we were hit with some sort of virus.
My question is: how do I re-load the printer attribute in Windows? I have
tried re-installing Optional Windows Components from my Windows XP disc, but
the installation freezes about 3/4 way through.
I am not sure of how to completely reimage my computer, and am guessing this
will need to be done. I hope someone can help me figure out how to tackle
the printer issue, or walk me through a reimage.
