I have a LinkSys wireless router w/ethernet. I upgraded
my Windows 98 computer to Windows 2000. Now I can no
longer access the Internet. I can however access other
computers on my local network. I changed the network card
with the same result. I eliminate the router by plugging
my computer directly into my cable modem. I can ping
127.0.0.1. When I try to ping the local IP address I
receive the error "unable to trasmit, error code 65".

You should try using Technet:

Roland,

Not everyone may be as web/technet savvy as you. Alot of
these people are regular home users who are not that
technical, so cut them a break. If you are supplying an
answer, but not nice about it, then stop replying to
people's posts as it seems to bother you so much.

Not classifying.

I did. I informed the user to try using Technet to find answers and then
gave them a possible solution.

Thanks for the follow-up Reggie. Zone Alarm is a pretty good product but
configuration can definitely cause issues. Congratulations on getting it
worked out.
