Recently I've not been able to access some popular web
sites, (e.g. www.holden.com.au, www.sonyericsson.com.au)
either through IE6 address bar or via search engines i.e.
google.
I haved a broadband cable connection and am part of a
small home 4 computer LAN.
Generally most web sites are available and appear to
respond as normal.
I use Nortons AntiVirus and Zone Alert, I've also tried
addressing these web sites with these turned OFF - no
difference.
Can anyone help me with this problem?

I have a similar problem in that I get the "unable to
display" message for a few sites but get to most sites
with no problem. I've have the same experience with the
same sites on an old version of Netscape I use to test
web pages. Thus my problem seems to be system related as
opposed to IE problem. I can't get a lead on how to
attach the problem either, maybe I don't understand their
search capability here. Can't find anything in the
knowledge base either. Good luck!

It may be a HOSTS file problem.
Look also for a file named HOSTS (no extension, could be hidden) rename it
OLDHOSTS.
