cannot access some icons on my desktop

I find it difficult to access some recently downloaded
programmes on my computer from the desktop. Can someone
please help.
 
Please define "difficult to access." What's the problem, any error
messages, are these applications you've already installed or are you just
having problems accessing the program files and how are you trying to access
them?
