I updated my system when I donwloaded "Software Distribution Service 2.0".
Since then, I have not been able to access any web pages using IE. However, I
could access the internet through MSN. Then I downloaded "Windows XP Service
Pack 2". Afterwards, I could not access either IE or MSN. I had to restore
my system prior to SP2 download. I have Norton AntiVirus and Norton Internet
Security. NOTE: When I downloaded SP2, I got a message that my antivirus
protection was unknown. I selected that I would monitor my updates to my
Norton.

Hi Kortni :-)

First, try disabling your Norton ad-blocker, and any other ad-blocking
programs or settings you might have. Also, turn the XP firewall off:

It's also very possible that you have some 3rd party scumware and the
install of SP2 may have unearthed hijackware which remained hidden in SP1,
and that's causing your problem. Work through the information here:

Dealing with Unwanted Spyware and Parasites:

Be sure to run CWShredder, Ad-aware and Spybot.
Also be sure to use the HijackThis. Please do not post your log to this
newsgroup, but to the SpywareInfo or the Aumha HiJackThis forums

evaluate your log and advise you of the necessary steps to clean your
system.

If still no joy, then try the following:

If these steps do not resolve your problem, please post back to this thread
with the details and any error messages.

Hope this helps

It worked! I disabled the Norton ad-blocker and turned off the XP firewall.
I also installed the spyware you recommended.
Thanks!
