Cannot access https sites

My company allows us to acces our corporate email via
https://url

When i try in IE 6.0 it hangs and returns with page not
found.

If i use Netscape, it brings up a login screen where i
provide my username and password and i get in.

I tried resetting the IE options back to default setting
but to no avail. could this be b/c of a security patch
i've installed.

Help.
