cannot access gc.ca sites

Don't know if anyone can help me with this one, but I am suddenly unable to
access sites ending in gc.ca. I've not had this problem previously, and have
no idea how to rectify it. Thanks in advance for any help.

That is the Government of Canada (gc.ca) sites.How long has this issue been happening. GC sites are notorious for being down. I know from experience. Wait and try a bit later

gc.ca is known to my DNS but has no IP address.
However, it points here, which does work for me:

Do you have Zone Alarm or anything similar where the gc.ca is blocked from being accessed

It's been going on for more than a month now. It's strange because I
can
access the sites fine from my roommates computer, but can't from my
own
anymore.

Do a traceroute to the site from work. Do a traceroute to the same site
from home. There will obviously be a difference in the first few hops
as your company goes to a different provider than do you. Beyond the
ISP from work and from home, are the routes different to that site?
Could be a provider in one of those legs is screwed up, like in their
routing tables (which are not dynamic to compensate for end-user failed
connects). You could also try using a public proxy to which you connect
your browser as the route from you to it is okay and the route from it
to the target site is okay.
