I have tried to access file in windows.all users to delete but cannot!. I
know this a regular problem and have tried the usual remedies with little
joy. However, when I highlight the file in standard windows it says the file
is empty. When I use treesize professional ( standard usage software) it
says the file is about 500 Mb and contains another file, which is not
impossible, since I know the name of the file is accurate. I could do with
the information in the file, but cant open it, and I don't want to delete it
now, in case it really contains data. Why the discrepancy, and how can I
open this access denied file. I have XP home and have administrator rights,
I think since no-one else uses the computer, and that what it says in my
user profile.

Any help is appreciated

Try opening a DOS shell out to your PC and go to the directory where
the file is and do a "type" (i think that's the command). the
contents of the file should show up.

to open a dos shell, go to Start -> Run -> Command
