Hi folks,
Probably not a Win2000 problem, but I'm pretty sure that a lot of the users
on this newgroup will have tried something similar and may be able to help.
I have set up a web server at home on my DSL connection behind my
router/firewall. On the router I have directed all IP traffic for my domain
name/IP address to the internal address of my Win2000 server. So if anyone
on the outside world goes to http://www.myserver.com (not the actual domain
name) they automatically redirect to my internal server and it works great.
Only problem is when I try to access the domain name or external IP from
another pc on the internal network it will not resolve. I can, of course,
access the resources by using the local machine name but I am sure that
there must be a way to access by domain name.
Obviously this is not urgent but I would be very interested to know how to
fix.
Many thanks in advance.
Best Regards,
Derek
