I am the owner of my laptop and, as such, signed in under a Computer
Administrator account. However, I still cannot access my "Documents" folder.
(Please note, I am speaking about the "Documents" folder, not the "My
Documents" folder.) I want to share files with other users, so I must use
this folder. However, everytime I try to interact with the folder, a small
pop-up dialog box appears and says "Access Denied". I scanned it with both
anti-virus and spyware scanner tools, and my virus-scan says there is nothing
in there. However, my Spyware Scanner says that there are 14 traces of
"potenially rooted-kit files" in there. I sent this information to Webroot,
creators of Spy Sweeper, and they have initially told me that the files are
legitimate. (I have resent them the issue, and asked them that if they are
legitimate, why are they restricting my access to the folder? I should be
getting a response within a day or two.) Something that is also interesting
is that when I right-click the "Documents" folder and click on 'Properties',
it tells me that it contains zero files and zero folders, and that it was
created on Tuesday, June 14, 2005, 2:36:14 PM. I bought my laptop on
December 24, 2005. I am using Windows XP Media Center 2005. Any advice on
my problem would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
