Hi.

I have IE version 6.0.2800.1106 SP1 running on Win2KPro. I have trouble
accessing some web pages, I keep getting "The page cannot be displayed"
message. This only happens with a few websites I visit. The problem also
occurs when I try to post a question to this Microsoft's Newsgroup. When I
click on Sign In I keep getting "Action Canceled" message. I have to go to
another PC in our office to post my questions.

I do not have a firewall installed on my PC.
I cleared my Temporary Internet Files and History completely as mentioned in
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm
I deleted all my cookies.
My Hosts file has no entries.
At the command prompt I entered ipconfig /flushdns

But my problem continues, can someone help me?

Thank you.

Hi John,

I have the same problem on my win2K machine that I have not been able to
resolve. Firefox and XP IE works fine.

A problem site I have is www.infomedia.com.au Please try this link to see if
you are also unable to access the site. I have researched this site and
found that they are using a redirect (403) to point to a sub-folder for the
site start page. I have also found that they also have some critical dns
errors.

Could you please reply with the addresses of your problem sites so that I
may test and research them to see if there is something in common about the
sites.

I have a Dell 3000 computer XP prof. sp2, IE6 sp2 and I am having the same
problem with certain pages not loading or not loading completely! I have
tried unistalling updates - no change. I have ran nearly ever name of adware
scanners - no change. Tried IE 7. Beta version - still cannot acces certain
pages.

Is Microsoft working on a patch to fix this issue? This problem has effected
my son's college email and his homework online! I am willing to try anything
at this point. And the biggest problem is that it has effected all 3 of my
home computers!!!!!!!!

FWIW No problem with that site for IE7b2p2.
However, I did have an interesting incident with it.
I thought that I had switched IE's state back online
but even if it had been Working Offline I should have got
a prompt to that suggest a switch. I didn't. Things
seemed to be totally hung, both the OE session which
I was using to launch IE and my existing IE windows.
Then I noticed that I had a new background tab
with the label /Introducing Infomedia/ and finally when
I tried switching to it the Connect or Stay Offline prompt
finally showed up. FWIW I have never seen that happen
anywhere else.

I then traced a Ctrl-F5 of this site with FiddlerTool
and didn't have anything but 200 replies.
However, I was presenting a Cookie so that would have
been different from the first time (which I unfortunately
don't have traced because of the above confusion.)
If necessary I could try deleting the Cookie and
retry it.
