My CD-ROM drive is not recognized. When i do device
manager, the CD-ROM drive is seen and functions properly.
The CD-ROM (internal) on my Laptop (dell inspiron 5000) is
also recognized as a removable drive. But for some reason
the logical drive for the CD-ROM is not recognized.
I do not have Norton's Anti Virus, but i have OfficeScan
virus check software running in the background, and i
cannot even turn it off as i don't have the password.
I have the same problem with my external USB CD-RW drive.
However when i connect a removable media reader (CF,
Smartmedia, Memory stick), it is recognized and assigns
logical drives.. But never assigns a drive for the CD-ROM
drive, nor the removable CD-RW USB drive..
thanks
