Cannot access any secure sites on internet, please help

About a week ago my computer suddenly decided that it no
longer wants to allow me access to any secure sites, such
as buying sites or anything with the padlock at the
bottom of the screen.

Does anyone know why this could have happened and what i
can do to rectify the problem.

Also at the same time it decided to refuse to run Norton
Systemworks 2004, and keeps telling me to uninstall and
reinstall, but i get this message even after reinstalling
again. I dont know if these two are inter-connected in
some way.

If anyone can shed some light on this problem i would be
much appreciative.
