Cannont save powerpoint changes

After adding changes and additions to a presentation "saving" changes, when I
try to sign out I get a "Press esc. key to cancel saving the document" box
followed by "Do you want to save changes?" inquiry. If I say "yes" it goes
through it all again until I say "no" which let's me out of the program but
then nothing is saved. Am I in a PDF mode? How can I get to a mode where I
can add to the presentation and save it?

Sorry to hear you're bewildered :-(

It sounds like it is a really large file - do you leave it alone when it
asks about pressing esc? I would suggest not looking at the computer while
it is saving :-). On a more serious note, I've seen the 'press esc to cancel
saving' dialogue many times when saving 97-2003 version ppts in 2007 or the
first time I upgrade them to 2007 version - my laptop seems to want to tell
me it's going to take it a while rather than just getting on with it. Can
you see a little save bar in the bottom left hand corner? As long as that is
moving, it's progressing with the save and you need to just let it do its
thing.

Let us know what version you are using and what version the file was created
in.

Thanks Lucy, I'm using Powerpoint 2007 for a ppsx file. If a long technical
presentation with lots of slides that only half way through. I've read " Why
are my PP file so big" and will try those suggestions. This is my first PP
attempt so I'm floundering a little and really appreciate your help.
 
When you save the PPSX (2007 format), is it saving as 97-2003 format? As
Lucy says, that's usually when we see the "press esc to cancel" notice.
