Can I suggest that will all the problems you are obviously having that you
backup all your data, reformat your HDD and do a complete fresh install of
XP? It will be very much easier in the long run.

anyexecutableprogramsonthexpdiskwillrunofcourse, soclarifywhatyoumean.
 
ithought ifthec drive vootedfrom the cd rom itwouldbe ableto get
whatit needs from that ----- ie that helpandsupport might work


notmuch piintin havingasystem restore option-ifyou can'tuse it

thanks --- isthere anyrisk if i reformat my c drive that iwill muck up
my drdrive which isall i have left that works?
 
Peter, are you visually impaired? If so, I apologize.

Anyway, there is not very much on the CD disk in the way of help files.
Those are only available AFTER the OS is completely installed.
 
Well, I have learned a lesson in humility, and obviously nothing is wrong
with your left side. Stay active on the newsgroups.
 
You've been conned. He writes perfectly fine when he wants too and has been known to answer people questions using the space bar (since the stroke - if it happened). Search google groups.
