Canceled reocurring meetings

I had 6 reoccurring meeting send out cancellation notices to the invitees
without me sending out the cancellation notice. How is this possible?
 
Hi Melissa

Did you change the list of attendees? This happens quite often when someone
means to forward a meeting to a new person or add an attendee - they remove
the other attendees from the To: line, which Outlook interprets as "I don't
want this person to attend any more" so it sends out a cancellation to them.
