Is this possible? I know it can burn .wmv to a cd but is it possible to
encode a DVD? Do I have to take the .wmv and convert that to a DVD?

There are a couple options here... first of all, is your DVD new? Most of
the newer DVD players play image files directly from a CD/DVD. Just pop in
the CD/DVD with the files and your set to go.
The other option, if using the Windows Movie Maker is to add all images and
create a movie out of it. You may add a specific number of seconds to each
frame (picture), for the duration you wish. Remember, this is Windows Movie
Maker and not slideshow maker. ;-)
The other option that came to my mind, which is in fact another product from
Microsoft (and you can download for free at their website) is Microsoft
Producer for Powerpoint 2003. Very cool, you can take out your
presentations, and add some audio and fancy transitions, and generate a
movie out of it. Of course, you can instead of slides, import your pictures
and work out your slideshow.

Hope helped somehow.
